On May 15, 2013, I had the privilege to sit at a table full of the valley’s best vendors in the wedding industry. The meeting was held at The Wedding Gal in McAllen. Everyone was mingling and eating some delightful finger food provided by Terry, A Wonderful Wedding Wish coordinator. As I looked around, I saw the small chapel where Terry has performed intimate weddings. The room was draped in tulle. Images by Anahi Navarro hung on her walls giving the bright room a pop of color. There was a big anticipation in the room. Everyone was excited, then things went silent as Terry and Clara from Social Situations addressed the group. They told us the story about the couple. They were young and very much in love but limited on time. They had only one wish — to get married. That one wish was why we were all gathered at that table. Jessica Azua, the bride-to-be, had stage four terminal cancer.
Ben Briones Photography had the pleasure of donating a photo booth to Jessica and Tom’s wedding through A Wonderful Wedding Wish. My condolences go out to the family and friends affected by this tragedy. A huge thank you to my brother and sister in Christ, Aaron and Vanessa Euresti, who ran the photo booth for me on that day. Bless the hearts of all the vendors who made Jessica’s wedding come true. Yesterday was her last day with us but her first day in heaven.
John 14:27-29 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said,[a] ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. 29 “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
