Excited to share these beautiful engagement photos taken a few weeks back at Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco, Texas. My couple and I had originally planned to go to San Antonio, Texas to take their photos there but due to this COVID-19 scare we decided to take the photos in our own backyard.
The couple wanted something with a lot of greenery and well Estero Llano was one of the options I presented to them and I am glad they chose it. This state park is so beautiful and has so much to work with. I was able to take the couple along different walking areas each giving us a distinct look all from the same location. The place is also super mega affordable. Cost is only $5 per person. I am really happy how these outdoor engagement photos came out. I also shot in 35mm film and can’t wait to develop and post those here. Please enjoy our favorite shots from this engagement photo shoot.

Check out this beautiful surprise engagement shot at Estero Llano Grande in Weslaco, Texas. Kody and I had met a few weeks before to chat and plan how this was going to unfold. If you are planning a surprise engagement I would advise planning something out with your photographer so you can get great photos and video captured. Kody and I came up with simple plan. He was going to book me for “couples photos” for their anniversary and during the shoot we would go back to the car to get some bug spray but we were really getting the ring he had hidden. We placed the ring in my lens belt and went back to the location and continued this “couples photos” to celebrate their anniversary. Little did Jasmine know she was going to be proposed to.

Rolly and Jessica are such a sweet couple. When they laid out their vision for the engagement session I was fully on board. I suggest we book the famous Casa Polonia located in Weslaco, Texas and finish off the photo shoot downtown Weslaco. The couple brought their beautiful doberman Hera to the shoot, which made their photos 10x better. Hera even has her own instagram! Having their dog at the session relaxed the couple and got them into the flow of the shoot.
I love that the couple planned three outfits. My favorite was the John Wick style outfit and photos. Rolly sported some boots that gave us the “Texas Look” but still allowed for overlap of classy-casual. Jessica wore a gorgeous simple white dress along with two body suites that really showed off her beauty. Here are my favorite shots from this engagement session.

One of our favorite locations to photograph couples at is the Old Hidalgo Pump House located in Hidalgo, Texas. It has so much to use and I think it’s a romantic location that really lends itself for engagement photos.
Here are some of our favorite shots from Jacklyn and Michael’s engagement photos. I really love their outfit and the energy they brought to the shoot. My friend and photography student, Jennifer Trevino, assisted me for this shoot and shot some beautiful photos as well. Here are our favorites.

Luci and I go way back to the start of my college years, so these engagement portraits were very meaningful. Patrick, Luci’s fiance, is such an amazing cool guy and made the photo shoot ten times more fun! They are the perfect match and it really shows in these photos. I couldn’t wait to show them off!
We shot a various places downtown Dallas, Texas. We started off at Kyde Warren Park were we got to photograph the couple with their puppy. I was also able to grab some other beautiful shots at the park too. We then walked over to the Dallas Museum of Art to take more cute pics by the famous mural on their driveway. The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts was another great location and we finally ended the evening at the beautiful and famous Margaret Hunt Bridge! Here are my favorite shots from this session!

A few months ago I had the crazy idea that i wanted to shoot a full fledge wedding in 35mm film! Right around this time my friend Alexa had gotten engaged to her handsome fiancé Mateo, so I reached out to her and offered her free photography services for her wedding if she allowed me to shoot it completely in film.
Like any photography package I offer I always like to shoot engagement photos too! Today I got back the developed imaged from my rolls and the photos are beautiful! Out of 3 rolls at about 35 frames each I was able to produce around 23 gorgeous images of the couple. I shot with two cameras; my Canon AE1 and Nikon FM10 using Kodak and Fuji Film.
Here are my favorite 12 images that honestly sum the beautiful photo session of the couple!
The very amazing and talented Stephanie Rios Photography is the contracted photographer for the couple and I am just shooting for personal growth.

Have you ever heard of Encino, Texas? Yeah, me either! It’s that little town you pass by going 85mph that’s between Edinburg, Texas and Falfurrias, Texas. But a few weeks back instead of passing through we stopped by and explored a bit and took some beautiful photos of this lovely couple. There is so much beauty out in the country, we even found lovely patches of Texas wildflowers. Just look at the bluebonnets in the shots.
This photo shoot was pretty cool. The couple are both EMT and first responders. They are literally real life super heroes saving lives! The couple lives out there in Encino and wanted to take their engagement portraits there because it’s their home and special to them. I am glad we did because just look at flowers! We shot on private property and at the local fire department. Check out the shots to see how they came out.

I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful couple last week. We chose the Old Hidalgo Pumphouse in Hildago, Texas for the special occasion. The Hidalgo Pumphouse is one of the cities’ special features and very popular for a photography spot among other things like bike riding, jogging or nature walks.
I love the colors the couple chose to wear for the shoot because they reflected a lot in the location so the the color pallet stayed cohesive. We utilized a few great spots around the property and these are my favorite shots from this engagement photo session. Enjoy!

Today is a special day! The couple you see in these photos are getting married! It’s also kind of special for me too. You see, Ms. Karen Cavazos, is my best friend’s little sister. I have known Karen as long as I have known my best friend, “the world traveler” Israel aka Gunty!
When Karen told me she was getting married and demanded I be her photographer I accepted gladly. When we did these engagement session photos with her and her fiancé, Serigio, it was as smooth as butter because of the longtime relationship I have had with Karen. I am super excited for the couple and can’t wait to capture all the special moments in their love story.
Israel, I wish you were here man but I know you’re somewhere across the world living your dream. I will do my best to capture your sisters special day.
