I love this engagement session because it’s the perfect example of how I like to model my engagement photo shoots. I always tell my couples to choose at least two photo shoot locations and two outfits. The first location should be a more fancy or more formal place they can dress up for formal shots. The second locations is a place where they can have fun and dress down like a park.
This lovely couple chose the McAllen Convention Center as their formal location and Robin Park, behind Trenton View Plaza, for their fun location. The outfits they chose matched the location perfectly. Here are my favorite shots from this photo shoot!

On January 10th, 2017 we photographed Sandra and Alex at Donna’s Hummingbird Springs with their two dogs. It was easy to see the amount of love their dogs are showered with by these two but moreover how much love the couple has for each other!
Both Sandra and Alex are in law enforcement and both have their discipline but that day they reminded us that flirting is a key to a happy relationship. They are so sweet and awesome together. We were honored they chose us to photograph their love story. Thank you both for your service, above everything you two are the ones who put your life on the line for us regardless of who we are or what we believe, for that we thank you so much!
The photo shoot took place at now of the newest and hottest wedding venue, Hummingbird Springs located in 605 S Hutto Rd, Donna, TX. The locations is so diverse and beautiful. The location was the perfect location for our clients because they are pet friendly. Any look goes well at this location, rather you are in a suite and tie or relaxed outfit, you are guaranteed to look good.

Casa Polonia in Weslaco, Texas has become one of our favorite locations to photograph our couples lately. It’s super versatile yet challenging. The location has so much to offer and you can capture beautiful shots from every angle. The owner Mike is also such a swell guy. He has always accommodated us when we are in a bind. Thank you Mike, You are truly a friend!
When my clients and I were looking for places to shoot in Weslaco we had overlooked Casa Polonia. The couple had a few other places in mind but every session we scheduled at those locations never happened due to some circumstance like weather or scheduling conflicts. Then finally we found Casa Polonia and we booked it. The client and after they saw the photos of the location they fell in love with the place and we booked it.
The day of the shoot was a little challenging but nothing I couldn’t handle. I took on this shoot alone without an assistant and I am glad I did because I really got to bond with the couple. When we arrived to the location there was day light but quickly left us. All I had for lighting was my simple one strobe light with a silver reflecting umbrella. I call this my lazy-man-light-setup. Well I took on the shoot at night and thanks to creative decision making [aka slow shutter shinnigans] and patient clients I was able to create these beautiful images.

I had never laughed so much during an engagement as the one I had with Ashley and Joey. It was surprising, because when I first met the couple they were very quite and calm, only later to find out how much fun they truly are. The photo shoot was a family effort. Major shoutout to Ms. Britny Rocha, the brides sister, who was my impromptu assistant thought out the shoot along with her mother Mrs. Elba Rocha.
Ashely looked amazing. The color she chose from both her outfits just popped and gave this glow. You can’t go wrong with shades of purple. Let’s not forget to thank her hair stylist because her hair was Props to her stylist. And Joey, so GQ, he was rocking a fitted suite and later a casual outfit with a cool bow tie. We did have one issue though, his hands. According to him he never knows how to place them for pictures. Joey told us that he wished he didn’t have hands but we kind reassured them they were needed and that we would help workout the issue.
The Inn at Chachalaca Bend in Los Fresnos, Texas has become one of my favorites locations to photograph couples. It’s so diverse and beautiful at every angle. I am glad these two Aggies chose to take their engagement photos at this location. The couples first outfits worked so well with the interior of the cabin. They just looked so classy and chic. When then took a few more shots outdoors in their formal wear, which again brought forth their great style. The couple then changed into a more relaxed outfit that really fit the mood of the of the exterior of the Chachalaca Bend.
The beautiful images you are about to was result of a team effort. Once again thank you Ashley and Joey for your trust and special thanks to Britny and Mrs. Elba for your help through the shoot. Enjoy this sneak from one of my favorite photos shoots of 2016.
