The Boys and Girls Club is near and dear to my heart. I volunteered and briefly worked at the Edinburg, Texas Boys and Girls Club before moving to Austin to attend The University of Texas at Austin. I was under the leadership of Sabrina Walker-Hernandez and Freddy Mata (featured here). I work a lot with the Boys and Girls Club of Edinburg but not afraid to assist and help other clubs around the Rio Grande Valley.
When I got the call that the Boys and Girls Club of Pharr was in need of professional head shots and some group photos I immediately did my best to provide them a fair price get the ball rolling on getting signed. Well, lo and behold here are the results of their leadership team head shots.

Last night we photographed Brianna Garces, the newly elected Miss Borderfest 2018. Brianna and her family attend the same church my girlfriend and I go to. So we already knew her but we only found out she won Miss Borderfest 2018 this past weekend when they made the announcement at the festival.
Brianna reached out to me because she needed some head shots for a possible modeling job with Betsey Johnson, who I here will be visiting the valley soon. Brianna models for Missy’s Modeling Studio located in McAllen, Texas. She’s also made an appearance on my blog on the V-Lashes Launch Party blog feature.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the last nights head shot session!

Last week we had a prominent immigration attorney stop by the studio for new head shots and we had a very pleasant conversation! Margie Villalobos is an immigration lawyer who’s been practicing for 25 plus years as a partner in Villalobos & Villalobos in McAllen, Texas.
I enjoyed photographing Mrs. Villalobos because I found out we were both alumni of The University of Texas at Austin, where she received her law degree. We talked about the possibilities of maybe one day I becoming a lawyer. She also shared her passion about the work she does and how important it is to her. I think the bond we had made for great photos!
I love how the photos came out and these are some of my favorite shots!

This week we had Mr. Nick Moore, a local attorney, stop by the Studio for professional head shots. Mr. Moore brought in two sports coats, which was perfect for the backgrounds we had setup for him. A mutual friend and fellow attorney, Ignacio Mendoza, referred Nick to us. A few months back we took Ignacio’s attorney head shots as well.
Depending on what the attorney does we try our best o get the best look for him or her. We tried a variety of positions and facial expressions for Mr. Moore and these seem to be my favorite shots. Take a peek and enjoy!

Head shots are important to clients as much as they are to the photographer taking them. Ms. Jessica Musick, a local professional photographer, asked if I could take some new head shots for her last week. Well, we got’em done and they came out amazing.
If you know Jessica, you know that she’s a character and that she never puts down her camera, aka Monique. During our session Jessica brought out Monique and we photographed her with it because when have you seen a photographers head shot with their camera in the photo? Even I have my head shots with my old beat up camera.
Here are some of my favorite shots from this head shot session with Jessica Musick.
