Two days before I filmed this wedding I sat in the waiting room of a hospital with my family at the left of crying and praying for my dad to come out okay from his operation. It was Christmas morning 2014 and my dad had a heart attack and my mom had secretly rushed him to Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance. In the mist of all the emotions I remained calm. I knew that whatever was going on was out of my control and I was okay with that. Thankfully my Dad came out of his stint operation successfully and lived to tell the story of his Christmas miracle.
Let that story show you that even in the chaos of life I took upon my responsibility and the promise I made to Keirsten and Bobby to document their wedding day. With the help of my best friend Imanol Miranda we took care of business. Thankfully Bobby, the groom, had gone through a similar situation and he shared empathy for my situation.
I almost didn’t do it. I was already looking for substitute photographers but my Dad, with the little strength he had, he told me to go and do it. My Mom too also assured me it would be okay.
Passion is what moves you forward. Passion is what keeps you strong. Passion is what builds reputation. Passion is what builds you up. Dad, you have always allowed me to do what I love and it’s because of you I can serve beautiful couples like Kirsten and Bobby.

This sweet couple are such dolls and I mean that in all honesty. They are such a good looking couple. We had a blast doing this photo session. Miriam is the younger sister to one of the my brides, Melody Rios Contreras. Beauty does run in the family. I have photographed Melody, their parents and now these two love birds. One of my favorite things as a photographer is becoming a “family photographer”. In the photography industry that is goal worth working hard towards.
The photo shoot took place at one of my favorite places; Memory Lane Photo Spot in Mission, Texas. It’s a beautiful 100 year old home that has an old country style setting with a variety of sections to capture different type of unique photos. I really love the simplicity of their outfits. The touch of the red heart shaped balloons was super cute as well. Even though I may not be their wedding photographer I still feel blessed to have documented this milestone.

My latest “unique” wedding was shot on a Monday afternoon at 3pm on Leap Year. If that is not super amazingly wild and fun then I don’t know what is. Julie and David got married at this beautiful little chapel in McAllen known as The Elegant Wedding Chapel located inside The Wedding Gal a one stop shop for wedding planning, invites and more located on 23rd Street in North McAllen. Terry “The Wedding Gal” Perez is a such a beautiful soul and always has this welcoming attitude that just melts you away. In my career as a wedding photographer I have worked many wedding with Terry as the officiant. Let me tell you! This woman knows how to perform a wedding ceremony that just brings smiles, laughter and tears to all your guest. In the simplest words; Terry, you are fabulous!
Later in the evening the couple was joined with family and friends at the Republic of Rio Grande located in McAllen, Texas. The couple had a meal with their guest, cut a cake and said a beautiful toast before ending the night.
I want to wish this beautiful couple the most blessed marriage possible. I would also like to give special thanks to their family and friends for being extremely welcoming to me. But the biggest shoutout goes to my special friend and longtime client Nancy Rocha of whom I have captured almost every milestone in her life since her unique Tuesday night backyard wedding back in 2009.

The excitement of revealing bridal photos is just unbearable. Laura is unique girl. You saw her engagement session, which had a completely different style of this photo shoot but I think this one still takes the cake because she’s such a gorgeous girl. This was such a special bridal photo session because Laura’s parents and sister were present. I also had one of my super awesome friends, Felicia Sepulveda, of Shutterbug Photography helping me create these beautiful images for Mrs. Laura Valdez.
To top it off we choose such a beautiful unique wedding venue the Rio Grande Valley has to offer. Villa De Palmas in San Juan, Texas has been one of my go to venues lately because it’s a new discovery to me. It has so much to offer for all kinds of portrait photography.
Laura made such a beautiful bride. I love the mix of lace in her dress and the elegant look of her hair. Her style fit perfectly into the Spanish royal styling of the Villa De Palmas mansion. These are some of my ultimate favorite images from this photo session.

The best memory I have of these two is photographing Mario propose to Nikki back in May of 2013 at Memory Lane Photo Spot in Mission, Texas. Now as their journey into matrimony moves forward I can’t help but to feel extremely blessed to continue the ride with them.
Nikki and Mario make such a beautiful couple. Their energy is so calming and every time I speak to them, I feel like I am talking to two life-long friends. I was very happy that they asked me to photograph this special event they held for their family and close friends.
I present to you this beautiful couple, Nikki and Mario.

This wedding was my last wedding of 2014 and my first of 2015. Stacie and Jordan married on the brink of the New Years Eve and we were right there to celebrate with them. Rain or shine our job is to document life changing events in your life, and I can promise you it is worth having these types of memories around to pass on for generations.
Stacie is now living in Alaska with her husband, so for you complaining about this January cold weather we are facing here in the Rio Grande Valley, think of my bride! This girl is such a sweet gentle person. Her parents are amazing as well! Everyone that we encountered at this wedding were just beautiful people. It was cold and rainy on this wedding day but that didn’t stop anything from coming together. In my opinion, everything went flawless.
It’s not everyday a bride marries the man of her life on New Years Eve, whom is a honorable serviceman, and then moves to Alaska. Stacie and Jordan, this was truly a movie-like love story and I am grateful to have been a part of it.

Laura and Armando are my super-star couple! The reason I say this is because when they first met me at my office they treated me as though I was some kind of celebrity! To be honest it felt good…I was being appreciated for my work and my brand but I didn’t let that go to my head. These two have been so good to me and so trusting in my ability that I had to stay up tonight and write this blog.
Let me tell you! That Laura, she’s a handful but I love her to pieces! Her personality is so contagious and makes me extremely happy. Armando is such a sweet and cool guy! The guy is laid back and so creative. Before the wedding we took their engagement sessions at the middle school campus where they met and fell in love. Now that says a lot about this happy couple!
Today Laura and Armando finally sealed the deal and turned a new chapter in their lives. Today I told that story with my teammates Bobby and Stephanie who were such an amazing help. I cannot thank them enough! I present to you Mr. & Mrs. Armando Sierra!
