The Old Hidalgo Pumphouse in Hidalgo, Texas is one of my favorite spots to shoot at because it’s so diverse in landscape and it’s very affordable as well. Those very reason’s is why we chose to take Emily & Pj’s Engagement photos there. This couple got in contact with me through a good friend, Ms. Georgette Rojas, who’s been friend with them for a very very long time through their parents. Georgette and her Dad have actually done a few photo shoots with me.
We took the couple around the whole venue taking beautiful shots of them around the building and the greenery. I really loved the outfit they had on because it was “fancy” yet casual enough to blend in with the rustic-ness of the Old Hidalgo Pumphouse. Here are some of my favorite shots from this engagement photo shoot.

Memories are beautiful and that is why I love being a photographer. The opportunity God has given me to freeze a special moment in time that will forever be passed down in generations is just beyond me.
At the end of May I had the pleasure of photographing Roonie and her growing family. We went out to the Hidalgo Pump House in Hidalgo, Texas. Roonie wanted a country-green-rustic setting and that beautiful location lent itself well to what she was looking for.
As hot and humid as it was we had a great time and captured some precious moments of her girls and her deputy. Her little girl is so animated and just made the photoshoot much more fun. I know these images will forever be special for mama bear. Thank you Ronnie Sada for allowing me to photograph you and your family.
Special thanks to Veronica Briones for assisting.

The small things are what count sometimes. Today I will be introducing you to one of my brides who has been so loyal and excited about my brand! Nicole and I go way back to high school! We both attended Edinburg North High School in Edinburg, Texas and since then we have kept in touch. Nicole’s green eyes are the first thing you notice on this beautiful young lady. The second thing you find appealing is her positive attitude, which I really enjoy every time I meet up with her. For me those small qualities count because not only does she bring beauty to my brand but also brings happiness and joy to Ben Briones Studios.
Our photo session took place at the ever-famous Old Hidalgo Pump House. I knew this place would be great for their photos but I was a little hesitant because of the bipolar weather we have been having and the fact it gets super saturated with photographers. Little did we know the weather was perfect and we had the whole venue to ourselves. I took the couple around to different areas of the Old Hidalgo Pump House and photographed them in posed and candid moments. One of my favorite shots was the one where they are tightly holding each other, moments before a kiss. Actually Nicole had requested I shoot some intimate engagement photos but the ones that I did shoot in that manner are for their eyes only but today I give you a glimpse of their session. Enjoy!

Although I do not niche in family portraits I still love to photograph families because it matters. It matters to them and it matters to me. Today I am featuring my latest family portrait session of the Leos family.
I met Mr. Andy Leos at a Holy Ghost revival at a church he pastors about a year ago. Pastor Leos is a family man, an active outdoorsmen, and most importantly a man of God. When he asked me capture some beautiful summer moments with his wife and daughters, I said yes.
Because of my highly active lifestyle I do not spend enough time with my family but when we get together it’s such a blessing. So when I’m asked to photograph a family I take the job seriously. I knew these images really mattered to Mr. Leos when he requested a special photo to be done of him fishing with his two beautiful daughters.
Family photo sessions evoke such an intimate setting. I really loved the way Virgina, the mother, kept the family in check. Their daughters were somewhat shy but you could tell the bond between the two just by looking at how tight they held each other’s hands. You know and most of the time it is the father who is not into the session but I was surprised as to how much Mr. Leos enjoyed the photo session. That only tells me one thing, family matters to him.
