Yesterday’s [06.10.2009] photoshoot with Alyssa Pena was great. We shot at the abandon[ed] warehouse on North [Highway] 281, one of my favorite places to shoot. We used ambient light, a reflector disc, and [a] speed light. [We were] going for a more natural light shoot with her.
She is light skin so light rolls of her amazingly, plus her is just a great color as well, which gave of a lot of Rembrandt lighting, which always adds to a photo.
Alyssa is a just an over all beauty. Since she has had modeling experience directing her [was easy.] We moved around the [whole] warehouse and used different ambient light sources.
I’d say Things went really well. The only thing about this shoot that sucked, was [that there was a] dead cat and [it stunk up the place.] In all the shoot lasted about [a fun] 2 hrs. This photoshoot is probably my best yet and one of my favorites.
I hope to work with Alyssa more and create a lot of new photos for you all to enjoy.
Assisted by Lori Alaniz. Wanted to show off some of my older work re-edited so you can see what type of work I was doing back in the day. Enjoy!

Sara and I rented the Fujifilm XT-3 to test it out because we are thinking of buying ourselves a pair. Our first test was with a one light setup with a beauty dish on a pink seamless. Everything was shot in JPEG and we did very minimal editing or none at all one some of the shots.
I had to adjust the camera setting a bit before we starting getting good results. I had to remove the eyepiece live view because I wasn’t able to see the shot because high aperture kept the view dark. I was also having trouble with the focus. I couldn’t tell if the shots were in focus so I setup the eye autofocus to help me. The the last thing I adjusted was the touch screen so I can zoom into the shot and check the sharpness. Those were the only 3 things that I had issues at first before figuring out how to fix them. Great camera for studio photography.

Anyone ever done a 4am photo shoot at South Padre Island? It’s a lot of fun especially if you are professional photographer. The colors are beautiful and capturing an image like that for your client is such a treat! The sky from sunrise and on on a beautiful morning at beach front will always get you great images. Here are some photos I took for my client at South Padre Island.

We recently got help this couple make a special announcement to friend and family. Kelley and Johnathon are having a baby boy! This special photo shoot took place at the famous Memory Lane Photo Spot in Mission, Texas and I think it was perfect for the occasion. I love how the couple coordinated their outfit along with the balloons and cute props they brought along. These are some of my favorite shots from this photo shot.

John and Michelle tied the knot on a beautiful summer day! The couple got married at the beautiful ballroom Arelis Celebration Hall located in Mission, Texas. The couple were surrounded with their family and friends as they ate, drank and laughed. Our favorite part was the sparklers during the couples dance but along with that special moment there were many more captured. Here are some of our favorite shots from this wedding.

The Chachalaca Bend is one of those RGV hidden gems for photo shoots! I really enjoyed working with Christopher and Priscilla. Their engagement photos were fun to shoot and loved the results. The venue has so many places to use for great shots. Here are some of my favorite shots from this engagement session!

One thing that we enjoy photographing as well are Bridal Showers. Many of the brides that sign with us usually ask us if we could capture some photos at their bridal showers. I think it’s great to document these events because you get to meet more of the family and hangout more with the bride before the big day,
In this blog you will see us capturing special moments for our bride Lorraine, who I shot her engagement photos and wedding pictures as well. She had her bridal shower at the famous Birdie’S Bristo located in the heart of Downtown McAllen, Texas. It is such a cute and quaint place to have breakfast, brunch and bridal showers! Here are some of our favorite shots from this event.
