We had the pleasure of shooting this engagement session for these two love birds. The couple wanted a location that was sophisticated and La Quinta Mazlatan in McAllen, Texas came to mind. We started the session inside. Both of them were a natural at posing and made it very easy shoot. Vanessa and Charles had great chemistry. As the session went on, the couple decided to change into their second outfit of the day, which led us outside. The outside of La Quinta is full of greenery and beautiful shooting location wasn’t hard to get started shooting.
Charles is a active firefighter and had the great idea of heading to his fire station, but sadly it wasn’t available. After making a few calls they were able to find an available station that could accommodate to us. The shots we took at the fire station looked amazing, this added a personal touch to their session that will make it memorable. Here are out favorite shots from this photo shoot. Enjoy!

This was one of the most fun quince portrait photo shoots we did this summer! Victoria was lovely her family was lovely and all that reflects in these photographs. My team and I were amazed by the detail of Victoria’s gown. Her makeup was flawless as well and she just did super well during the photo shoot.
We cooperatively chose the Quinta Mazatlan World Birding Center in McAllen, Texas because it offers beautiful indoor and outdoor settings that really lends itself photography. For this specific shoot we started indoors but quickly made our way outside because it was, in my opinion, the best place these photographs because nature and beauty always mix well. Here are our favorite shots from this session.

These two were definitely meant to be together! They compliment each other so well, plus, they are no doubt an incredibly fun couple to be around. Dominique has such a giddy and joyful personality that is just wonderful to be around, pretty contagious I would say. Gilbert has a sweet and calm spirit and I figured out that with just the right person around, you can get some crazy laughs out the guy.
The couple choose one of our classic favorites, La Quinta Mazatlan, located in South McAllen. The couple’s outfit in a sense resembled simplicity because it fit well with Quinta’s 1930’s Spanish inspired architecture and design. We also love how they both wore western boots for a part of the session. The bride-to-be changed both dresses and shoes, which gave the session a small twist but did not stray away from the theme.
I [Stephanie Rios] had a blast working with these two, as well as Denise, Dominique’s older sister, of which Ben Briones Studios has also photographed, was so fun and knew exactly how to help out since she has gone through this experience before. I got to know them and I am super grateful that they were comfortable enough to share their lives and their laughter with me. It would be more than my pleasure to be able to work with them again. They’re seriously such a naturals in front of a camera. Many, many blessings to the lovely couple on their upcoming marriage!

Talk about throwback, flashback and way back when… I took these beautiful photos of Mrs. Reyes in 2012 a few months before her wedding. We shot these at the Quinta Mazatlan World Birding Center located in South McAllen.
I was young, ambitious and straight out of college. My goal was to make a name of myself among many of the great photographers her in the Rio Grande Valley. You can see me exploring and trying to find my style in a lot of my very first professional shoots such as this one.
When you first starting shooting you want to try everything and soon after you find your footing and build on that style. I think if you look at this and my current work you can see that from 2012 to 2016 my photography style has been consistent. Thank you Mrs. Ruth for allowing me to capture these special moments for you as I took was climbing milestones in my life. Enjoy!
