Studying is an important part of being a great student. When I was in school at The University of Texas at Austin I would do my best to put in at least 2-4 hours of studying, especially if it was a hard course I was taking. When my client Taylor asked me to take these unique portraits of her studying I was on it. I found it odd but unique because to her school mattered, a lot. Taylor was studying to be a medical doctor and she wanted to capture this journey in her educational pathway before things got more crazier for her. Here are these fun study photos of Ms. Taylor seven years ago!

Here is another look at some of my first “professional” work I did back in 2006 for the Miracle Riders Bicycle Team. My friend Israel and I took on this gig as a photo and video team to photograph a two day bicycle ride from McAllen, Texas to San Antonio, Texas.
I was barely getting into photography as a career pathway so you can kind of see that reflect in the quality of the images and edits but you can definitely see I had an eye for it. It was quite a journey because for two days we rode in back of a truck photographing and filming this cycling team make their way to Bexar County. We took two days and camped out in Mathis, Texas, which was a really cool experience. It’s been so long since I shot this event but check out some of my earlier work below.Â

Love the way these photos turned out! Special thanks to Elizabeth for trusting me to capture this milestone in her life and another special thanks to my cousin Manny who helped me with the lighting to capture all these great photos!
Elizabeth has hired us to shoot her engagements, which we also shot at the Missions in San Antonio, Texas and her wedding which took place in Mission, Texas. I love that she’s always open to my creative ideas and that always reflects the photos we produce for her.
My client chose San Antonio Botanical Garden because wanted a mix of greens and desert like scenes for her maternity photos. I think it was the perfect location because it offered both and we had a lot to work with. It took us about 2-hours to walk through most of the gardens and grab some nice photos. The ones you see below are some of my favorite shots from this photo session.

This photo shoot was quite the experience! It’s not every day you get to photograph a gorgeous couple on the grounds of a historical marker. Eleazar and Elizabeth hired us to take their engagement photos in San Antonio, Texas.
We shot at the San Antonio Missions, a 1700’s historical preservation of Spanish history in Texas. The couple fell in love with the location and thought it perfect for their engagement photos. I think they picked the best place to document their love for each other.
You best believe Jessica and I had a blast at this location. There were so many angles and so much beauty around us. Not to mention the good looking couple! We used a mixture of natural light and studio lighting to create these photos. Many of the poses were thought up by Jessica and they came out lovely. Truth be told this is one of our favorite “Out-of-the-Valley” photo shoots.

Dallas has been the most difficult but cutest model I have ever worked with. She just didn’t care for photos. On the other hand; Ms. Jennifer was as Grace-full as she’s named. She flashed her beautiful smile in all her pictures while holding her furry love. Trust me…these photos may look gracious and dandy but that little fur-ball was really hyperactive but Jennifer tamed her well enough to capture some great shots.
I have photographed subjects with their dogs before but never with a cat. There’s always a first for everything right? Jennifer is from San Antonio, Texas and is a respiratory therapist. She and I became aquatinted via Instagram. One day we talked photography and she mentioned she wanted a photo shoot with her cat Dallas. If y0u know me. I am always down for an adventure. So we planned it and this is the result of that conversation.
This photo shoot made me want a cat even more. I have been eyeing Chartreux for a very long time now. Very happy to have met Dallas and Ms. Jennifer Grace. Enjoy these beautiful shots of a cat-lover.

I had the pleasure of photographing Ms. Brittany in San Antonio, Texas at the beginning of October and the results are beautiful. One day I came across one her Instagram posts and I commented if she was willing to take photos with me. Well, she agreed and we have these beautiful images to share with you.
Special thanks to her wonderful mother who assisted me and helped me throughout the photo shoot! Enjoy.

To my beloved client the Kelley Family,
It has been such a pleasure to be your wedding photographer and now your family photographer. I still remember your beautiful baby girl from your wedding night and now look at her. She’s precious and so smart. Mandy, you are just getting prettier with time and we cannot forget about Mr. Shawn; he is a true gentleman!
Remembering this photo session brings so much joy to my heart. I felt at home and I truly had a nice time spending with your growing family. As I mentioned before, it is an honor to serve your family as a photographer. Thank you so much for trusting me, for believing in my brand and for feeding me! There is not really much more I can say but that I love you guys!
Sincerely,
Ben Briones
