Gina Beltran – UTPA Grad – Edinburg, Texas

#TBT

I wanted to show off these fun UTPA Grad Session photo shoot I did a while back. Ms. Gina had contracted me for her senior photos and I wanted to shoot them on the UTPA now UTRGV campus using natural light. If you know me, I usually carry around some mad lighting gear, but this time around we just rolled with a reflector. We also shot during golden hour which made the lighting even more beautiful. Check out the awesome photos we produced for Gina’s grad session. 12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2304_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2309_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2313_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2321_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2332_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2351_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2380_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2388_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2389_WEB12.01.12_High Res_Gina Beltran Grad Session_BBP-2400_WEB

UTPA Baseball Team vs Illinois University Baseball Team – 2009

Back in my UTPA days I photographed sports, specifically baseball. I would use a 400mm lens, which weighed chingos and I had to drag it around in a rolling case, but it was fun and a great learning experience. I recently found these shots in one of my old hard drives and thought it would be cool to share them with you. Enjoy! _MG_0004_MG_0038_MG_0066_MG_9918_MG_9939_MG_9947_MG_9963_MG_9980_MG_9989

Sam Valdez – Edinburg, Texas – Ben Briones Studios

#ThrowbackThursday

With graduation around the corner for many colleges, universities and soon high schools, I can’t help to remember the excitement of moving on to the next milestone of my life. In my career as a photographer I have photographed many unique graduation portrait sessions in the Rio Grande Valley. I too once walked in my regalia and received two diplomas in my life time and I hope to obtain more.

This beautiful girl you see in the photos is a good friend of mine from high school. Seven years ago Ms. Sam Valdez was ready to tackle life and today she’s a successful and happy individual. These photos forever will be a record of that initial start to life as an adult.

If I recall correctly we did photographer her in her cap and gown but I am choosing to show these shots because just as much as the session is to highlight graduation it is also to highlight your character and were you will be taking that character. In this case Sam took her character to Texas Tech University the home of the Red Raiders! If you are graduating soon I would advice to take some fun unique grad photos for your memories. Thank you Sam for contracting me to capture this milestone in you life.
