There’s this cute little wedding venue in Mission, Texas named The Loretto Bristo and it’s kind of a big deal. I have had the pleasure of photographing two weddings there and both have produced beautiful wedding photos and it’s all thanks to the ascetics of the location. I was also equipped with one of the best shooters in town, Steph Rios, who also took the couples engagement photos a few months before the wedding.
The Loretto Bristo has an airy vintage type of feel with a mixture of summer-time-fun! It’s well lit from the inside and pretty spacious for a small to mid-size event. The couples I photographed at this venue have both got married out back in their beautiful lush green courtyard.
Dominique and Gilbert couldn’t have chosen a better venue. The couple who is also good looking fit right in at the venue. What I loved most about this wedding was the amount of love in the air and how quaint it was. Desiree, the brides sister, recommended me to her and I am very thankful because Dominique was such a fun and sweet bride. The couple completely trusted my shooting partner and I to capture this love story and that we did. Enjoy.

The Loretto at Mission has become another one of our favorite venues to photograph and wedding. Let me tell you why! Let’s take this beautiful couples’ event. Sara and Isidro tied the knot at this stylish bristro / coffee shop / event venue about a year ago and the photos are still ever so relevant because The Lorretto just has a timeless feel.
Sara got ready in their bridal room which has big windows that lets in beautiful light. The walls and decor have such soft ones, which made Sara’s dress look amazing. The groom got ready in the common area and even then it looked like a 5-star hotel room.
There is very little decor you have to do if you are getting married at this venue. Sara and Isidro had vintage aesthetic for their wedding theme. The theme fit in perfectly with the existing decor. What I speak of is the dinner area that also served as the reception area for the wedding.
Now the garden where the ceremony took place was lushes and green. The couple married under a pergola that had vines running up it. The guest witnessed the wedding from the grass on chic white chairs. And when the couple had walked down the isle as man and wife we used the exact same spot for their formal photos and they turned out great.
If you are interested in finding out more about this lovely venue you can visit The Lorretto at Mission at 1233 E Griffin Pkwy, Mission, TX 78572 or call ahead of time to get a tour 956-600-7208.

Never have I attended a wedding more musical than this one here. Miguel and Vanessa are both powerhouses in the mariachi music scene here in the Rio Grande Valley. The bride has her own all female mariachi group named Mariachi Mariposas and the groom plays with an all male group named Mariachi Los Arrieros. Not only do they play but they also teach music!
The wedding took place at this small beautiful catholic church north of Edinburg, Texas. The brides brothers and his mariachi conducted the ceremony music. Vanessa looked stunning in her wedding gown. She has classic beauty. The groom, Miguel, looked super dapper in his blue fitted suit. Shortly after the wedding we took the couple and their bridal party to where they met, the UTPA now UTRGV, music department to take their formal photos.
It gets better. Once we got back to their wedding venue for the reception there were more musical surprises. Miguel and Vanessa’s mariachi’s groups put on a performance for the couple and their guest. It was truly a beautiful musical wedding.

In December a coworker asked me if I could take “traditional studio” portraits. If you have seen my work you can see I rarely do studio style work but I took on this challenge.
Monica is a beautiful bride so the images were going to turn out lovely regardless. The lighting was not an issue either but the issue, if any, was going to be in the posing. Typically in the photo shoots I conduct take place at locations with furniture and objects to help with the posing but this time around we shot at my photography studio located at The Grindstone Co Working in Edinburg. We had a gray backdrop and wood floor and that was it.
The approach I took for this traditonial studio photo shoot was to show off two things; her wedding dress and her beauty. I made sure to photograph her from every angle to show off her beautiful wedding gown. Then I also made sure to make her laugh and smile so her natural beauty would shine through the images.
Celina’s bridal shower was delightful! It took place at The Club at Cimarron in Mission – Sharyland area. The part was a breakfast / brunch event with very good food. The house was packed with family and friends excited for Celina and Mario’s wedding. I found myself enjoying myself very much documenting this special event.
The event was fun filled with games and lots of laughs. The whole party was planned and orchestrated by Celina’s wonderful sister. And as you can see from the photos it was such a beautiful turn out. I am more than excited for this wedding to come already!
